SM2 Talent – Our Story

After faithfully serving 20 years in a reputable firm you could say a shift happened…  three great minds met and what happened next was magic. No one would ever have thought of starting a human capital specialisation and talent division within a new business of an Accounting and Business Advisory firm. 

This is how SM2 Talent was born in 2018 when three Deloitte alumni’s came together and decided to expand the SM Squared services to bring the world more under one roof.

SM Squared, an Accounting and Business Advisory firm was born and  based in Gauteng after being founded in 2013, with the primary focus of meeting the rapidly evolving needs of high growth businesses in Africa. We have mirrored our own methodologies bringing our success to our brand.

The holding company, SM Squared identified Recruitment as a missing business function within the group's offerings for their client’s needs and the timing was in their favour. After engaging a stalwart in her industry Brenda, to co-found the Recruitment division known as SM2 Talent, no one has looked back since.

SM2 Talent is a true South African start-up success story, and with our passion for business and our vast wealth of knowledge, we know we’ll be growing hundreds of brands over the coming decades.

With passion, commitment and the network to make it happen, the business grew with local and global clients and the future looks brighter than ever. The main contributor to our success is our collaborative, interlinked group leveraging off each-others strengths.  SM2 Talent is therefore not merely a talent agency, but offer additional services to assist our clients with accounting, payroll, tax advisory and CFO outsourcing services. Making us a truly uniquely positioned brand to assist brands in their growth goals.

Within our first year of operations, we continued to grow from strength to strength and the Groups  combined strength has attracted SME, Corporate and JSE listed companies alike.  We’ve grown from a team of 1 to a staff compliment of 5 people. Some incredible individuals with strong specialities stretching from a vast range of industries.

We took the COVID’19 pandemic and used it to our advantage – the slow down allowed us to focus on our internal policies, procedures, hire new amazing talent and launch a new website, bolster up our marketing efforts, increase our brand awareness. We sought out the services of a Marketing Consultancy Agency to help us move into the next phase of business excellence – packaging and promoting our amazing group of services to those that need them.

During this period we ALSO attracted new clients and talent with unique negotiated COVID’19 rates, showing our dedication to our clients and commitment to corporate growth and wellness. Offering in many cases a first of its kind FREE recruitment during the pandemic, helping companies to weather the storm and grow with us. During this time we’ve proudly placed 13 people in their dream jobs on contract and permanent basis. We firmly believe we’re all in this together and together we are indeed better.

We’re proud to announce our new website, as well as our newest team members, truly growing beyond our expectations.
